Lightscribe technology?

Is Lightscribe technology as good as it sounds or is the name just leading me to believe it is? I found a lightscribe 16x drive on ibuypower and if its as good as it sounds i may need to get it with my new comp.
 
I find it to be a bit overrated. It really is not that big of a deal. You also need to buy special CD's that cost a bit more so you can burn the simple image onto the top of the disc.
 
yea i went out and bought an HP drive with lightscribe when it first came out, bought the special discs and i only used it once, so, in my opion it isn't worth it.
 
well, having it won't harm you.....if you buy a drive you might as well get it, perhaps later you might want to use it, or some freinds/relatives..... i would suggest that you get it, its col to have another gadget on the PC. :D
 
a! wll then, go with what suites you. The light scribe is not a-must-have-in-your-computer. just chequ the prices around!
 
Its not something you really need but i do have it and ive used it a few times. makes cool lookin pro CDs or DVDs and if u have the extra money maybe a cool gadget to have on your comp
