I'm installing a drive with Lightscribe, but before I do, I just wanna know what it is. I know that it does CD labeling, but do you have to get special CD's for that?, etc..

Yes you have to get special cd's that have a special texture on the label side.
Lightscribe also can take for a while to label your disk depending on what you want on it.

Is it just black and white, or can you do color?

No..........black, white and gray scale. not impressed. takes to long, special cd's and not impressed. just another adventure but the novelty wore off after one.

Lightscribe is a failure and a waste of money.

i have a lightscribe drive too, didnt want it just come with the drive!

dont know anyone who uses them for what they are intended, big gimmick they thought would take off-very short lived

I have it and never used it, and now they have colored (ONE COLOR PER CD(Yellow,green,red,ect)) lightscribe Cd's that will work if you install the latest drivers.
