I've just updated to the new limewire 4.14.10, and it's taken over the job of Azureus. Once I click a file to download on a torrent site, instead of going to Azureus it is now going into limewire, and I don't want this to happen. What do I do?

Are you using firefox? If you are, then when you click on the torrent you can choose what app it will open with. If you're using IE you may be able to do the same, but you can always save the file and then right click on it, select "open with...", and then select Azureus.

Thanks, I saved to desktop then opened with Azureus :)

If anyone knows of a setting in which I have to change to take it back to my default, please let me know though.

right click on the file, then go to properties, then there should be a section that says Open With: followed by limewire, click the change button, and then select azerus.

Don't use Limewire, it is filled with malware, viruses, malicious files, and it is highly traceable. Uninstall it and never use it again, that will solve all your problems.

I've never had any problems in terms of malware, spyware, viruses, etc with LimeWire.

neither have i

but in the last 5 years or so, the number of fake files has made gnutella and gnutella 2 all but completely useless

it's really not worth your time, especially if you're already an experienced torrent user.

I've never had problems with Limewire when I used it, but a lot of fake files always came up in searches. If you're intelligent enough, you won't download them....

But I really don't recommend using Limewire.

regardless of your experiences, limewire is known to have malicious files on it. I can't tell you how many computers i have seen screwed up from Limewire and every other bloated P2P app.

[/sarcasm]

I've been using LimeWire for about eight months with absolutely zero problems. Totally satisfied user.
