"Limited or no connectivity"

I have 2 comps connected by a router and using a cable modem. One of the computers says "limited or no connectivity" and I can't get it to go onto the internet. The connection works when I plugged a laptop in, so I think its a problem with the computer itself.

The problem says that it cannot renew my ip adress. I've done ipconfig release and renew etc. on both computers. Could I fix this by picking up an Ethernet PCI card for 20 bucks? Thanks.

Do you have DHCP on the router enabled?

If so, do you have the IP's manually set on the 2 comps?

I'm not sure about DCHP, I don't know how to check that. But the thing is, the connection still works with any other computer, just not mine.

You may have a static ip address go to your control pannel and click on network connections then right click on local area connection and go to properties then go to internet protocol (TCP/IP) and double click on that one and make sure obtain my ip automatically is clicked and obtain dns automatically is clicked as well

Exactly what he said, but with punctuation.

Screw you man dont make fun of my english thats not the reason for the forum if it was we would not call it comptuer forum it would be called english forum geeze...

I really need help, my mom can't stand me being on her computer all the time for the internet

Try unplugging your modem and then replugging it.

I don't mean to be rude, but thats actually one of the first things I tried. I've checked/reconnected all of the wiring. I even had the nerve to call dell support, I was on the phone for an hour and a half before the guy with a thick accent told me I had to reformat (yeah right). All he did was have me click ipconfig and unplug my cables and put them back in + restart my computer a couple times...

I know there's a solution out there, I just need to find it. Help?

Actually this happened to me when i first built my comp. Do two things for me and see if they work. 1.) make sure you have the most up to date drivers installed for the nic card. 2.) clear the CMOS. I know this sounds weird but when I cleared the CMOS it made the internet work. Don't ask me why. I hope this helps!

ok, well I sort of got it working. I'm using the computer for internet right now, it appears that I might have something called Winsock2 corruption. I can fix the connection by going to cmd and typing "netsh winsock reset" and then restarting the computer. The only problem is, I have to repeat this every time I turn my computer off :(.
