Line Across Screen

at the top of my 19inch screen there is a feint line, hardly noticeable. checked all connections, no luck, anyone know what it is? i print screened and pasted in paint to see if it was a screen problem or not but the line didnt exist on the print screen so it must be a screen problem...... a few months back i threw a penny across my room and it hit the LCD screen and left a slight gash, could that of triggered this line?

It could have, but if the damage wasn't instant i don't think so. i could be wrong however.
Try running your monitors auto-adjust feature if yours has one.

It might be 'dying' pixels. When your screen is completely black, do you still see it? And when you put your mouse over/under the feint is it over your mouse?

i cant see it over the mouse because its white itself and very faint. I am obsessing over it and im worried something is seriously wrong............ is it the PC or the screen? and no, i cant see it when the screen is off.

I mean when you can see the screen is on (the blacklight) but nothing is displayed on the screen. Like when it's lit up, just black, not completely off.. Can you see the line then?
