Line chart

I'm looking for a software that goes round with line charts. Constantly I get data that needs to be visualized via a line chart. Finally it has to look like this chart but in a more modern way. This graphic looks like a standard Excel one but this is exactly what I don't want to get.

Do you know cheap software or freeware I can use to create such line charts?
 
Get LibreOffice instead of OpenOffice if you want to go that route. LibreOffice is essentially the same thing (it's a OO fork), just better and a lot more actively developed.

I don't know how good LO/OO Calc is compared to Excel at the present, but I remember it was quite lacking in many respects when I used OO to do assignments for high school. That was some 2 years ago, though - I imagine it might have improved a fair bit since.
