linksys not communicating with xbox live

Hey guys here's how my network is set up
*Main router
*Linksys router as a repeater.

We have a 300ft ethernet cable hooked to xbox live in our garage. I wanted to hook the linksys router to the 300ft Ethernet cable but when i done so, my xbox live wont work through the router! So i naturally thought i will get a splitter and fix the problem! but that didn't work either!:confused:

My router came with software for the computer but there is no computer up their but i could get a 200ft Ethernet cable and send it to the house and into my desktop where i could install the software etc...

What is your guys thoughts?:confused:

well i tried using the router anywase and messed something up! now i cant connect to my network at all!! when i refresh sometimes it will find my network and it will have only one line of strength! and it wont connect with only one line. I am sitting a foot from my desktop and am getting a perfect connection with my mom's lap top!
Please people i need help
