linux and gaming?

im thinking of installing linux on my laptop but i do play a few games like minecraft, starcraft 2, company of hero's and plenty others, but i was wondering would i be able to play games on linux? since its open source not sure if its built for gaming?

I think Minecraft Shoudl be able to work fairly easy but SC2 would be a bit more challenging.

I would leave gaming to Windows if you already have it.

If you look on Youtube,Starcraft 2 does work in Linux....However i heard its not so simple to get working sometimes.

To be perfectly honest with you,If you want to game then stick with Windows,Imo its just not worth the hastle trying to get games to work under linux.

Unless something major happens in the Linux world,I doubt Linux will ever be able decent to play games on properly.
