Linux ppc or i386?

I wanted to upgrade from fedora core 3 to 4 and im a noob at linux. my friend gave me the fedora 3 cds, now i wanna download 4. what difrence between them?

ppc is for the Mac. i386 is the Intel architecture. If you have a generic PC you want i386.
