I need a bigger case? What could possibly be larger than a haf x?

The HAF X is not that big. Bigger cases would be Corsair 800D, Xigmatek Elysium, LD PC-V8 or anything by Mountain Mods, to name but a few.

Your case has grommets to run your tubing outside of the chassis for external radiators, so that would be an option for a bigger rad. But it depends on whether you really want to run your loop externally.

I would stay away from koolance, they've always had quality control issues, lately EK's been having nickle plating fall off too

Are you kidding? Koolance make just about the highest quality watercooling components available.

But yes you are right about the EK nickel blocks. That's why I went for copper.

I've never had any problems like that with the Koolance kit I have owned and I've built quite a few loop in multiple machines. What products are those photos taken from?

I find it pretty strange as I use Koolance pretty much exclusively (where possible), due to their higher level of quality.

In reality however, when it comes to gpu blocks, all the products from various manufacturers offer pretty much the same performance.

The reservoir should be on the inside, but radiators can be mounted externally. Like I said previously, go for a drivebay res/pump combo. It will really tidy up the loop.

Tubing is a personal preference, same with fittings. I use 1/2"id/3/4"od tubing and bitspower compressions.

Coolant: skip on the premixed stuff, just use distilled water with biocide or one of these: http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/sikibyia.html

For a reservoir, one that installs in a bay will be the easiest to fit in a case like that, but a tube reservoir would be easier to bleed

A pump top would be a good idea on the d5, just so you can use aftermarket fittings

You also need a radiator, and if mounting externally, you must decide how you will approach that.

Oh.....and Gentle Typhoons.
