little help pls

hi,
i have a problem with my internet, sometimes when im trying to load webpages my internet decides it doesnt want to load it and after a while it says "connect timed out" or "page cannot be displayed". it happens with ANY website i go on, including this one....
i have tried both firefox and IE and both do the same...
can someone help me? is it something i need to contact my ISP about?
 
What is your connection?

If you are on a router you may need to give it a reset and see if that helps.
 
Im with NTl and it does it to me quite often. Yoiu should contact your isp and tell them whats been happening and how often.
 
Lol, yes its like that for me atm, i cant get on google or any site i want to, except this. Im only with NTL because ive got the 10mb connection ;) and i also havent paid them for this months broadband, hehe. Although my bank charged me £39 because of it

yeh this site seems to work fine, but a lot of others such as google, MSN, microsoft etc... it was also f*cking around with my MSN messenger connection earlier...f*ck NTL :P

Lol, yep, annoying as hell. It gave the troubleshoot error as DNS and Key ports with msn.

No, it seems to mess up at night and then by the next day, its sorted itself out. If it happens again soon then ill phone up and complain
 
does this usually happen after something like midnight? this is when NTL schedule most of their system upgrades and overhauls

i had a wierd problem with my net connection a few weeks ago where it would work for a bit and then disconnect for about 5 minutes and then start working again. btw i'm with blueyonder which is a local brand of NTL

Ah, that could well be it. It does go weird from about 9 onwards, but starts to really get annoying at about midnight
 
its usually most annoying around 9 for me, im not usually on my pc at midnight, only if im on WoW...
they could pick a better time for upgrades etc like 3am :P

but how come its suddenly gone like this?...i havent had any problems for ages...

Another good point. They're upping everybody to 10mb but instead of speed caps, they have monthly usage caps. Whilst me, ive been on 10mb since december 1st. Man is it fast!
