) but it plays perfectly fine so ne way which would affect loading better, a new cpu 3.0ghz cpu or 512 ram???

funkymonky8u said:well the ppl who made my comp (emachines) said that my mobo can only support 2100 or 2700 but its not recomended to mix ram cards like that???

--RAM...ing speed ahead!!!!

no I wouldn't expect it too, especially with an emachines celeron. I'd say the motherboard an i845 variant4W4K3 said:i dont think his supports it, especially if it only has 2 DIMM slots. might be wrong though...
for anything but gaming it's more than powerful enough. unfortunatly PC salesfolk like to earn commission and the low price of the budget systems looks real nice to an uninformed shopper when they say its 2.6GHz with xMB RAM and 40GB HDDfunkymonky8u said:ya mine prob doesnt it was a piece of $hit when i bought it and i didnt know anything bout comps so now im payin for it, literly and metaphoricly, lol
You mean UT2k4?when I play unreal it takes appro. 1 30min to load torlan
Check that your drives arent working in PIO mode (as opposed to DMA)but it plays perfectly fine so ne way which would affect loading better, a new cpu 3.0ghz cpu or 512 ram???
The slowdown is the size limitation m8 (ive ran it on 2100 and 2700 and 3200, everrything else being the same), as for upgrading to 512@PC3200 the bonus mostly comes from the 512 ... why? Because even if its PC2100 -- its faster than the alternative (the harddrive). The reason its slow is because 256MB will fill up real fast and then the system has to goto the harddriveYour big slowdown is not only 256MB or RAM, it's PC2100. I would really think 512MB PC3200 would cut that load time at LEAST in half
i845/850 are the probable targetsno I wouldn't expect it too, especially with an emachines celeron. I'd say the motherboard an i845 variant
Is Futureshop commission based?unfortunatly PC salesfolk like to earn commission and the low price of the budget systems looks real nice to an uninformed shopper when they say its 2.6GHz with xMB RAM and 40GB HDD
Except here you claim that you can run HL2 full blast no sweat .... http://www.computerforum.com/showthread.php?p=39449#post39449 ... and HL2 is hands-down a more intensive game than UT2K4 ... so which is it?1st of all yes ut2004 and depending on the map size and foliage amount it varys on teh settings i can have it on
yes.Is Futureshop commission based?
the 850 is RAMBUS and last time I checked PC2100 isn't RAMBUSi845/850 are the probable targets
That would explain a lotthe 850 is RAMBUS
