I am running XP-Pro and started picking up malware. I have a good virus app and also use a registry cleaner, spybot and malwarebytes anti-maleware. If I go and delete the contents of the folder it loads up again as soon as I go to IE. I have searched the system and deleted all good and bad cookies but no help. This is a pain because when I google something it redirects to anout 3 other sites. Is there a suggestion out there for me???

Is all of your programs you mentioned up to date... AV, spybot, malwarebytes, and IE?

I would make sure all of that is updated, run some full scans and see if that helps. And install IE8 if you haven't already.

Visit a good malware removal community such as Malware Removal or Spyware Info Forum. They give expert advise based on logs taken from your system. You seem to be having website redirections there due to a modified hosts file, or a proxy.

Please post your current malwarebytes log along with a hijackthis log.

Download the HijackThis installer from here.
Run the installer and choose Install, indicating that you accept the licence agreement. The installer will place a shortcut on your desktop and launch HijackThis.

Click Do a system scan and save a logfile

Most of what HijackThis lists will be harmless or even essential, don't fix anything yet.

Post the logfile that HijackThis produces along with the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware log

Now it looks like the folder is clean but the malware and adds are put somewhere else. If I use google, It never goes there the 1st time. It goes to an add. You close the add and click on the target or url again and it goes there, so there are redirects screwing things up. Here is the hijack this log:

I don't see anything bad in the log so lets go a little deeper into your system.

You will have to uninstall AVG temporarily before running combofix.

Download and Run ComboFix
If you already have Combofix, please delete this copy and download it again as it's being updated regularly.

• Download this file here :

• Then double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
• When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply

Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall

Combofix should never take more that 20 minutes including the reboot if malware is detected.
