location (address bar) issue

1st timer here so be nice to me I have a minor in the house and would like to delete the info on my address bar. You know when you type only the 1st letter of a web address and your previously visited locations are shown in a drop-down box? I tried Tools-internet options-clear history. No go so now what's next? Need to set a good example you know. BTW Windows XP Home. Thanks much!

have you tried highlighting it and hitting delete?

Yup, in the drop down when I highlight that item and right click nothing happens. I don't have the option of deleting.

Tools/Internet Options/Advanced then scroll down and untick Use Inline Auto Complete. If you want to keep some AutoComplete options then choose the Content tab then Settings and tick or untick whatever takes your fancy.

Damn! That doesn't work either. In the default mode that selection (use inline auto complete) was already unticked...... next
