Locked Partition

I made a very foolish mistake. My computer has three separate partitions, and out of paranoia, I locked one of them using the program, "Disk Password Protection." I locked it with a 3 letter password, however, in both fields I typed the password the same, wrong way. Is there a common way to unlock locked partitions? I assume it is not nearly as simple as bypassing a Windows password. Thank you for your time.

You know the 3 characters you used do you not? There's not very many combinations of3 characters :P

Can I bring my ubuntu live cd over? :(

That will get onto locked up partitions for copying files off of it and then sending it on it's way for a new one. Then you simply write down the password if you decide to use that program again.

Other then that you will need to try all 26 letters and 10 single numerical digits in various combinations if you forgot it. Let's see some 999+ possibilities...

I know it's 3 letters and I know it's only three of 15 keys, I know I didn't use the other 11 keys. Anyone wanna do the probability math on that?

That lowers the 999+ figure down somewhat for a start. Instead of being in the thousands you are then looking at some 1,500 variables. You just have to remember how you chose the 3 digitals if you used something as a reference/reminnder to keep from forgetting. date on the calendar, area code for telephone, etc. as a thought.

It was supposed to be "sys," bah, I was hoping someone here might have know a bypass for that specific program, or knew of a password cracker. I guess I'll just let the data go, unfortunately.
