Can't figure out the problem. I have an Acer Spin 5 laptop. The touchpad has been completely inactive for 4 or 5 days. I went into the touchpad setting in Device Manager and made sure they were active. I rebooted the machine a few times. Nothing. Still the same completely inactive touchpad and no cursor in sight. Hooking up a mouse works fine. Without the mouse, I am restricted to use it as a tablet. I tried to get new drivers but that didn't seem to work either... Any suggestions?

Other than resetting back to factory to test, really nothing can be done. You most likely have a failed touchpad.

Is it enabled on your keyboard (fn+F7)?
