Logitech wireless keyboard/mouse troubles

I bought a Logitech MX3000 wireless keyboard/mouse combo, and it seems to be having some connection issues. The mouse wont work much farther than 3 feet away from the receiver, while the keyboard wont get more than 1 or 2. I've tried different batteries, (NI-MH fully charged), and it didn't help at all. I've also synced them up a few times too. Is it defective?

I had a similar problem with my old logitech set-up. When I first purchased the combo it would work from 10-15 feet away, after a years use I could no longer be further away than 1-3 feet. The odd part is that after another year the range increased by about 2-3 feet, If your item is still less than 15 days old I would exchange it for another one and test that out as well.

when I first got it it worked across the room, and now I've had it for 20 days and it works like crap. also, now the forward and back buttons on the mouse skip back and forward 2 pages on IE, but only on IE:confused:

I have 30 days to return it, so I'm going to exchange it on Friday, and hopefully it will work (It damn well better, cause the closest Futureshop is a 45 minute drive away:mad: ) I guess I'm also going to have to resurrect the box...

Thanks for the links!! I read a bit of the first one, and one of the suggestions was moving the receiver around. Well I'll be damned if I didnt find out that my CRT monitor was causing interference(I had it right beside it). I put it by my LCD and it worked fine. So I moved the reciever away and now it works across the room again!

Yup, was probably just interference with the signal being transmitted. Since it's wireless and all.. a lot of things come into play as opposed to corded units.
