logon script and auto-hide help!

I need two things:

Sorry if this isn't a straight forward question but, how do you run a .bat logon script in vista. I've written the file just not sure how to run it at logon.

and:

I need my taskbar to auto-hide but when i restart my laptop it reverts to non auto-hide settings, is there a way to stop this?

the .bat file , just click on it and it will run, as long as you are an administrator

yes but i want it to run everytime i log on automatically

you can put the batch file in the autoexec.bat or you can put the batch file in the startup menu

I'm not sure Autoexec.bat wll do what i want, that's executed on stratup, not on login. anyway i'll give it a go.

Autoexec.bat won't allow me to edit it because it's a dummy file for NTVDM any another suggestions??
