Long Overdue Upgrade

Hey everyone,

Finally decided to getting around to upgrading my system. I came up with some ideas, but looking for some second opinions.

Old system
Athlon 64 3800+
MSI K8N mobo
eVGA 7800gt videocard
Windows 7 Home
4 GB Ram
535w psu
Thermaltake Tsunami Dream case

New upgrades
Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition 3.4 Ghz
Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H mobo
Gigabyte GTX 460 OC
Corsair TX 750w psu
Corsair 2 x 4Gb DDR3 1333 PC3-10600 Ram

A couple questions I have.
a)Is the psu overkill and could I get away with less?
b)Is there a cheaper equivalent to what I have here?
c)Is this easy to swap out myself?

yes,for what you got there that PSU is way over kill.500w would be just fine if its a decent brand.this PSU here would do great. here- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151093

You can also go with the Phenom ii X4 955 black edition, it overclocks the same as the 965, it will save ya like $20-40 depending where you buy, also if your just gaming 8gb of ram is kinda overkill, get 2x2gb CL7 1600 memory and you will be fine

1600MHz RAM is cheaper than 1333MHz RAM, why not even if you don't OC.

Will power out all kit without a hitch.
Better and cheaper than TX.

Everything else looks good, go with 955 as above. You will need new CPU cooler if Overclocking.

Thanks for the help guys. After reading up on the 955, seems like the way to go.
