My parents will be buying me a laptop for Christmas, considering I will be going to college coming up in January, and I was wondering if you all could give me some help.
I currently own an HP Pavilion a350n Desktop, and absolutely love it, it has worked great since day one, never have had problems with it, and I got this back in 2002.
So as you can tell, I would prefer purchasing a HP laptop, but anything is open to me.
I would like to stay below 1600 if possible, I know it's low considering Laptops are very expensive, but I really don't want them to waste all of their money.
I was looking at the HP Pavilion DV9500T, which has gotten really great reviews, and also is fairly cheap for the price range I am in, this is what I have come up with, and would like to know what you all think of this setup for the price.
I did not add on any kind of service contracts because I am excellent with computers for the most part, I don't do stupid things with them etc, which would cause a big problem.
Anyways, here is the setup I have chosen and would like to know what you all think, as I said, I am open to any suggestions that you can give me.
I'll be using the computer for all types of stuff, surfing the internet, downloading music / videos, working in photo shop and video editing programs, instant messaging, watching TV with the TV Tuner, etc. I will not be using it for gaming.
Thank you for any advice you can give.
