looking at getting a new Video card for my laptop?

Hello there I am a newbie to the site, I just got a new laptop a few days ago. I would like to look at maybe getting a new video card for it some time in the near future.
I have been noticing some odd behavior of the screen whenever I open up a game of any kind on my computer. Mostly its disruptions in the screen that mostly consist of little white lines runing across then screen for a few moments. I've heard that too run games nicely on a computer that has vista its recommended that you have a pretty high quality video card. I am not a HUGE gamer..but I do like to run a few games every now and then and would like it if the visuals were clear most of the time.
Like I said before this is not something I feel I have to get taken care of right away but I would like to look into it for eventually getting worked on possibly in the next year at the latest.
The computer is a Toshiba Statlite, not sure just which exact kind but I can get more details if it is needed.
 
what kind of laptop is it?

doing this automatically viods your warrenty, and might no be possible in your laptop. I would look around the web to see if it is. I know its possible for some of the older Latitude series dell laptops but, the only way that they did was contacting NVIDIA and explaining to them what they were doing it. I would also venture to say that it could get quite expensive and might not even be worth it.
 
Yeah I don't think its possible I looked up info on my specific computer on their web site and they don't even mention the video card in the ad for it. So I am guessing its built into the computer's motherboard itself. I am going to try changing some stuff internaly on Vista to see if that will make the graphics any better. I really don't want to game too very much on this I just wanted to have a few games on it...in case if I was in a airport or something like that and I got bored I would have something to do. I don't even plan on having more then one game on it at a time! But I got some advice from a friend of mine and he said that the graphics on the comp. might not be running as fully as they could be...so I am going to have him look at it for me. Next week, if I do want to get a computer that'll be better for gaming I think I will just look into getting desktop and wait on doing gaming on this one if worse comes to worse. It'll probably save me a lot of time and grief.
 
Disable Aero when you want to game, It should release a bit of RAM allowing for a smoother gaming experience. :)
 
I'm not entirely sure but I think thats what my friend was telling me about...lol man its going to take me forever to get used to Vista.
