I want to change out a few things in my build (the one in my signature) any suggestions? def thinking better ram and gpu?

All depends on what you do with your system. If your a gamer, definately change out the gpu, BF3 requires a 6850 at minimum if you plan on playing it. I just upgraded to the 6870 from the 5770 and has improved game play somewhat.

yea i like to game especially now that i have more free time on my hands now that im done with school.

Your system is actually pretty decent. The only thing you could really do is upgrade your CPU to a 2nd gen core processor, but you would have to replace the mobo as well. I agree with john though, your only weak spot is your GPU. Get something like a 6870 or gtx 560 Ti. Or if you have the money a 6950 or gtx 570.

The only thing I really see worth changing is the GPU. You already have 8GB of RAM and that is plenty. The performance from the additional 534Mhz on the RAM Johnny posted won't be worth $50.

I was thinking of picking up the ram that jonnyp11 suggested along with a 6870, with those i should be looking pretty good for awhile until i throw in a second ssd and raid them

6870 isn't too much of an improvement over the 5770. See the whole 6000 series numbering went up "one hundred" so the 6870 is the replacement to the 5770. The 6770 is the replacement for the 5670. In my opinion, Sell your GPU+RAM, get a 6950 and a nice 8GB kit of DDR3 1600MHz. Most kits should be CAS9 at 1.5v or so. Shouldn't cost over $100, more around $70-$80.

linkin: in your opinion what could i get for my gpu+ram? This will decide what i do with what i got

i'd guess around or over 100 on ebay? (gfx-70+ ram-30+, but with idiots on ebay the ram may be closer to 50)

on the price checker thingy it said the average price for "8gb ddr3 240-pin 1066mhz" was 49.-- and for an "hd 5770" is was aroung 117 i think
