I'm running vista Home Premium 32 bit. I am having a problem where the OS will freeze. It will not allow me to do a restart or shut down.
The mouse still works it highlights things but I cannot click them. Also the keyboard is diabled. The only way to shut down is to do a hard restart. This happens maybe 8-10 times a day on average.
I double checked all my drivers and all are up to date to the best of my knowledge. I have done several scans to repair the hard drive. This seems to help for awhile but it does not last more than a day.
following others instructions on microsoft forums I did the sfc /scannow command. I says there are errors but cannot repair them.
So I tried to do an in-place upgrade using the vista home premium disc. When I get to that option it is greyed out and will not allow me to select it.
Please if someone could point me in the right direction it will save me alot of time pulling my hair out.
Thanks in advance,
Eric
