I'm not even sure if the keyboard I need exist. I need a full keyboard that is near silent when you type. I also need a mute, volume up and volume down dedicated button. I am a computer tech but I've never once looked into buying a certain keyboard because I've always just needed a keyboard purely for fixing computers not for use in a special environment. When I search the internet for keyboards the terms I use don't seem to yield the keyboard I want.

Have you checked out the Microsoft Comfort Curve 2000? It's pretty quiet (although I seriously doubt you'll ever find one that's completely silent), and it's also relatively affordable. It has the buttons you ask for as well as the following: back/forward for internet browsing; shortcut buttons for web browser, mail client, and search. I have one (the corded version, USB) and I like it. Hope that helps.

A lot of the Logitech keyboards are quiet, though it's hard to actually know unless you try it out. I'd go to Best Buy or Staples and try a few out.

Slim keyboards are usually quieter than regular keyboards due to smaller travel on each key.
