im going to be putting a PC in my car and i want a screen that will plug right into my VGA port on the PC, preferrably touch screen so i wont need a mouse, but under $60...about 7"

also needs to be readable , so i can see WMP

it doesnt have to be for cars, i want a computer monitor, because worst comes to worst, ill ebay a 15" non touch screen for about $50

You will still need a monitor that runs off of 12v to use in a car. It sounds more like a laptop display with a touch screen would work out better. Just what type of pc are you putting in your car anyways? A laptop with an external lcd touch screen monitor?

nope.... im going to get a power converter, so i can just plug it in.... and im going to be running a tiny little computer under the seat with the LCD in discrete place... thats why i wanted a small one... but like i said, ill just look into a 15"-12" LCD

like i care about laws with my computers and cars :P its only going to be used for WPM, and when parked, WMP and DIVX for movies and MAYBE GPS, just cause its cool

A small swivel arm mounted screen that can be moved out of the way for driving or detachable mount would avoid legal problems due to a safety hazard violation of some type. You have to make a quick stop you don't want a monitor coming up in your face there for sure. ut oooooh... smack in daaa face right side... chirp... chirp... i should have listtt....

well, like i said, i wanted a 7" LCD, because it would flushly mounted where my Headunit goes.. but with a 15" im going to have to make some kind of mount that i can hide it from view completly...

IDEA!!!!! what about a 7" Portable DVD player with RCA or SVIDEO imputs and use the screen off of it, AND keep its DVD features so i can use that as my CD player and run the sound back to the computer, which will have a low profile RCA soundcard to output sound to the Amps?

You would need speakers connected to the installed sound card that will run off of a 12v source like a patch for box type speakers you would have to have room to mount. Car stereo speakers themselves are out since you would need an amp to run those.

For the most part that type of display is designed for digital video from a camcorder not a pc source. Not matter what way you go it will have to be a custom setup. A laptop solves a number of issues there. Everything is self contained with dvd playback as well as pc use.

i have already stated that i am running an amp :P

im getting rid of the need to have a headunit, i want to be able t..... nvm... ill just make a mock up real quick

And the problem with the amp you have is input? You could see one type of impedence mismatch there. You want to make sure your amp and speaker setup is pc capatible to some degree. You don't want sqealing and humming sounds there. :P

Your main problem is finding the right size and type lcd to use. You need a small lcd screen that both runs on 12v and accepts vga or S-Video if not DVI input. How about a 7.2" head rest lcd? http://www.housewaresandgifts.com/cgi-bin/ISStore/store?action=view&RO=vx3v1il7tm&prod_id=9861

ill just do my idea.... your missing the point, with an RCA Analog soundcard on the PC, i can plug it DIRECTLY into the AMP's Imput

and im too lazy to splice wires and make it work with VGA or RCA or even DVI.... so ill just do my DVD player idea...

I haven't missed any point. And if you have RCA phone inputs on your amp all you do there is buy 1/8" miniplug to RCA adapter cables to simply go from the card to the amp. The display on a portable dvd player won't have a touch screen there.
