Im looking for a program for my computer, I want to record my friend playing the guitar and his vocals but i don't know what i need.

Can someone help me out with what i need to download/buy?

hardware and software please

thanks

Audacity is an audio editing/recording program and it's free. I personally use Cool Edit Pro (Adobe Audition's predecessor), but it costs money obviously.

You also might want to look into getting a small mixer and maybe some good mics.

I use Cool Edit Pro as well and hands down its the best for the price. They don't make it anymore but you can pick it up on ebay for under $30. If you want an inexpensive interface, the Tascam US-144 is a superb one with very low latency and supports phantom power.

Ive used Ntrack before just goofing around, you might want something to plug your guitar into first before the computer like a line6 pod or something to clean up the sound. Or get a tascam like ninja said.
