Hey guys, i'm new the forums, its a pleasure meeting you all.

I'm in the market for a new computer. I'm lookin at the ASUS 925i mobo with a Intel P4 775 chipset CPU (3.0Ghz+)

i'm going to keep my 1 gigs of Dual channel DDR ram and maybe get another gig just to speed things up a bit for the engineering software that I have to use for class.

I'm using my old ass Radeon 9800XT graphics card, and I have enough HD space. I'm basically reusing everything except the old mobo, CPU, and case.

now, I need help deciding on a case, and cooling options.

at a first glance, i was going to buy the koolance case that comes setup with a liquid cooling system already...I'd have to the buy the seperate components to be able to cool the CPU, graphics card, and harddrives tho.

Then i browed forums, and did some research, and it turns out the koolance case isn't as cracked up as it seems.

what i want in a case:
1) decently light weight (made up of aluminum parts, doesn't haven't to be pure aluminum)
2) easy to mod (tool less installations are a plus)
3) size doesn't matter to me, so it can be tall if it needs be
4) I dont want one that comes with a power supply, i'll be using my antec 500W one

Other than that, i dunno what else to list...i just want something crazy and unique...price range can be from 0 to ~250$

i've searched mostly newegg, and not many of those cases appeal to me... though the thermaltake kandalf case is pretty cool, i've heard some bad things about it. Then theres the thermaltake Armor case, which is basically the kandalf without the front face... other than that, there isn't much else high end on that site ...

by the way, i'm not a fan on Lian Li, their cases even though are full aluminum doesn't offer much convenience. They look nice, but i think their prices are too high for what they have to offer. Im willing to pay high price, but its gotta blow my mind away, and Lian Li doesn't really cut it there, unless one of you can convince me otherwise.

Thanks in advance!

thanks for the reply...

i've considered the first one before but the HD mounting rack is not conventional. It looks like a pain in the ass to get harddrives in and out of the racks, and i remove mine often and exchange data with friends... i dont' like external HD's cause they aren't worth the money and they take up extra space.

the 2nd one is too small but that big 'ol fan looks pretty neat

the 3rd one just sux... lol... the vento is overrated, and in my opinion, its hella ugly, and hella expensive for the restrictivness that it has to offer. Ur payin for the insane plastic outer casing that looks like a nuclear meltdown. :P

Hmmm, I dunno I really like the Aspire X-Navigator cases but they come with a PSU.

The Tsunami Dream case is supposed to be really good, I've heard nothing but good things about it at any rate.

Are you looking for a full tower or mid tower?

preferably full atx...and preferably with NO power supply.. i'd rather not pay for the PSU if i don't have to...since i'm gona reuse my antec 500W one.

i have a knockoff chieftec right now, it looks like the aspire alien case, without the little "eyes"

the coolmaster one looks good.

i've checked out Lian Li, Chieftec, Antec, Coolmaster, Aspire, Thermaltake, and basically everything that's on Newegg's website

are there any sites out there that specialize in computer cases?

if not then i'll either get the coolmaster, or thermaltake...

still open to other recommendations, and thanks for your input guys, much appreciated.

the =hot= case on the market right now is the coolermaster stacker. it's um...HUGE. lots of room for fans and expansion. looks pretty cool too. about 150 bucks. no PSU.

do you have a link to where we could check this case out
iu'm pretty interested myself because i['m about to work on building my own system

i actually found a really neat website www.pimprig.com ... i know it sounds corny, but they have some AWESOME reviews on everything PC related from hardware to software.

check it out. I'll take a look at the stackers case... sounds promising, i still haven't made up my mind.

the case i really wanna get is the MoutainMods Cube case which is $300+ and thats too much for me...lol
