I am trying to find a usb flash drive that is very durable. I went to the store to check them out the other day but I couldn't really judge by the covers. I just simply want to make sure that my data will be safe over the years. Which companies are very well-known and trustworthy for durable flash drives? Thanks in advance!

Edit - oh and maybe this is a bit overdone.. lol but are there any ones that comes with case?

Stick with the top brand-names like Samsung, Kingston, Memorex, etc...
If you haven't heard of the brand, don't buy it. I mean it'll work, but the bigger brand names have built a reputation around their products and the duration that their products will last for.

I have a generic Samsung 16GB flash drive if you're interested...I've been using it for a few months. It works perfectly. And I say generic because it was a reseller company or division of Samsung that I bought it from...the actual hardware etc is Samsung brand, the manufacturer was a partner or something of the company. :)

I say either go with the Corsair Survivor or the Cruzer Titanium. The Corsair is a bit more rugged, but is also kinda bulky and hard to use.

I've got about 6 Flash drives all random brands all different sizes and never has one failed (touch wood) and im not careful with them at all
My Two gig (nicknamed Blob)
I've had for 3 Years and has handled

Droping off a 2 Story building
Running through the wash 3 times ( i know you think I would a learnt)
For a swim (pushed into a pool)
and being droped countless times

so unless your exposing it to fire take the plunge and try the cheaper ones
