Looking for advice

Hello guys and gals. I am looking to upgrade my current motherboard (Asus M5A97 R2.0 evo) and cpu (FX 6100). I'm pretty inexperienced when it comes to doing stuff like this and don't really know where to begin. What would be the best bang for my buck? Thanks for helping out.

I'm in Saskatchewan, Canada. Use it as a multimedia hub (video: streaming and hdd files. Audio: dj mixing). Looking to spend max 400 bucks if that'll get me something decent

Between new motherboard, ram and cpu, it will be well over 400 bucks.

This is the lowest Ryzen build I would go with.

would be able to use my existing ram and would be within my budget

Cause at this point, building on the Am3+ platform just doesn't make sense.
Besides, if you really want to stay with AM3+ then just upgrade your cpu to the 8350, your currrent motherboard supports it. But I don't think it will be in your best interest.

You can find used 8320 or 8350 on ebay and similar for pretty cheap (sub $100 USD).
