Looking for an upgrade for under 100

Hi guys.

Ok my fan on vid card is dead. The magnet isnt catching or something. So I'm looking to upgrade to something that will be under 100$.

My current card is ATI Radeon X600 SE with TV-Out and DVI 256 MB DDR memory. I know it's old.

I'm not looking for the best of the best only the best for under 100$. I game, want to do some autocad stuff and maybe video edit.

I've read through the Video card 101 thread too. It was really helpful but many of the suggested products are deactivated.

Maybe go for a 8600GT if you're into playing games a bit, its a nice card from what I've seen of it (a friend of mine uses one, and its performing quite well) :)
 
Both are good brands (well, big brands for that matter) I never owned a eVGA card, I did however own a XFX, and that one served me realy well.
either way, it doesnt matter wich of the 2 you would choose, both are from well known brands (wich make good products :) ) so i'd go for the cheaper one to be honest!
 
Hey slow down there guys. You might drive this guy into some trouble. First of all, if this guy has an old GPU (the X600), why would you reccomend and 8600gt, a modern card which his system is most likely to not be able to handle. Is your x600 PCIE? What is the wattage on your power supply? Find out and then we might be able to help you better.
 
I was actually thinking about the wattage requirements. My current psu is 400 watt.
I believe the X600 SE is pcie-16X.

agree with you,so the question is his motherboard got a pci-e port or not.
 
Lol I couldn't find one. Anyways thanks a lot for the help guys. I went with the EVGA GeForce 8600GT for 70$ off newegg. I also bought 1 gb of ram..woo-hoo. :)
