I pulled out my HP PCI-E HDMI DVI Video Card today as suspected Blue screen problem and discovered it was an Asus #5189-2509 card.
I had an older MSI PCI-E DVI card that I was going to throw in it just to see if it will stop the crashing, but started having second thoughts because of the HDMI only.
I found an identical Asus #5189-2509 card on eBay for $19 plus shipping and it says tested, but I don’t know what king of testing. Mine also works but not all the time so I think I should maybe buy a new one to be sure.
I don’t want to spend a lot of money just in case it’s not the card and I don’t need any more computer parts lying around. What are your thoughts on this and do you think my MSI HDMI card may cause more problems? I'm not sure if I still have the disk with the driver or not.
the MSI card is a NVIDIA GeForce 6600 #8983-010 TV DVI VGA Video and the Asus #5189-2509 card is GeForce 8500GT and both are 256MB
