Looking for HJT expert

Hi guys, was wondering if you could help me.

A few days ago I went to download Adaware 2007, on the way one of the pages that leads to the download link asked for an active X control, so I right clicked and was about to hit install, when a popup flicked up, was kind of in a rush, and at the same time someone contacted me on msn, so I quickly hit up the program, responded and flicked back to install the Active X, thing is in the hurry I clicked the wrong page, and hit SOME button in this popup window, have no idea which one, a message coming up just saying blank, so I just came out of it.

Didn't think too much of it, just thought it was a popup from within the popup.

Anyway, went to open up a new IE7 window a few minutes later as tabs were full, my default homepage is now set to http://. The box is blanked out and I cannot navigate to any other page, cos all it does is hit the url http://.www.google.co.uk. (If browsing for google.co.uk) I cant even get to home or my router config page.

I luckily had opera installed at the time, and I'm using that right now.
Have tried disabling add-ons, which works if you go into the specific mode, but in normal mode the add-on seems to be hidden, as it's not listed anywhere.

Also looked for any weird processes, all look normal to me, Have ran Adaware SE, 2007, and scanned for Viruses and nothing has shown up.

Only other thing I could think of was posting a HJT log on here, cos I know theres a few people that are good at it, never used it before so what would I need to do? Its downloaded n ready to run:)

TIA

Done a basic scan, and found the errors :)

But not all of them.

Deleted the http://. listings.

Problem - When IE buggered itself up I decided to totally use Opera or Firefox, So deleted all easy access presence of IE7.

Only thing I can get intoi is internet options.

Where can I find the ie7.exe file on my drive so that I can make a shortcut?

Also

when I got into internet options (from the start menu) my homepage is now www.msn.co.uk, but the box is still greyed out, how do I fix this?

Thanks:)

About to post a log up now :)

EDIT2: Just looked over my log, got IE back up, just had to look for the directory :p It was running cos I had internet options up, made IE back to the default then opened up a link to try see if I could get anything going.

Last thing is, anyone know how to fix this greyed out homepage box?

Haven't deleted Netmeter as its a bandwidth usage tool I use, for making sure I don't go over my monthly limit :)

I assume you brought that up just because of its name, sounds like it could be a keylogger or tracking tool lol.

Actually, more because CastleCops flag it as a threat: http://www.castlecops.com/s15137-NetMeter_exe.html. Upon further investigation, it seems that they've confused it with a threat of the same name. I'll make sure that's corrected.

In any case your logfile appears to be clean. I take it you can now change your homepage?

Yeah no further problems with homepage setting :)

Wow! Thats weird:P

Just typing out this message, a box has just appeared lol, IE7's Phishing filter thinks Cofo is a Suspicious Website:P
