I'm looking for a GREAT combo for a CPU and a Mobo, trying to keep it under 200 dollars if possible, AMD if have to Intel if possible, going to be used 24/7 never going to be turned off, used for video editing/burning, massive multitasking, and needs to keep cool so aftermarket cpu cooler as well. Max will be 270 USD. can only shop at FRYS because needs to be bought tomorrow before 2 P.M
P.S Iff possible 3/4 core cpus if can, or dual core just a good

Oh i almost forgot...

Has to run on DDR2 PC 6400 ram
RUSH!!! Thanks a lot

Yes it will, its right there on the CPU page. With bios F2. Plus the CPU gives the advantage to up grade to a AM3 DDR3 board later. Plus I would not recomend a 00 series Phenom. They have the L3 bus, dont overclock well and runs hot, thats why they are so cheap. The Phenom II is far superior, even against the Phenom I 50 series with out the L3 bug.

So it is. I was looking in the AM2+ section because the board didn't say it
was AM3 at the spec page.

Apologies. He could also upgrade his RAM to DDR2 1200 later.

Nice choice for future upgrade.

The AM3 processors have a dual DDR2/DDR3 memory controller and can be run on a AM2+ or AM3 board. A true AM3 board has DDR3 slots and a 938 pin socket. Keeps you from putting a AM2/+ 940 pin processor in a AM3 board.

Well, becuase if you go with intel, you could only do with dual core. With the AM3 combo you get the 720 x3, which is a lot better for mutlitasking, and they overclock very well, compared to the older amd processors...
