Looking For Opinions On New Build I Want To Make

So Im thinking of starting a new build, all the parts are compatible and was just looking for some helpful thoughts and factual insights. I know the components Ive chosen is the expensive route but thats what I wanted. My new build will consist of:

CPU: (4th Gen.) i5-4670 3.4GHz

Mobo: Sabertooth X87

RAM: Dominator Platinum w/ Cosair Link Connector 2x8GB (1.65v dual channel DDR3)

HDD: 3TB Seagate Barricuda

Video Card: (just to start out, will get better later)ASUS Radeon HD 7750 1GD5-V2 1024MB PCIe Gen 3.0

Optical Drive: Asus DVD-E818A7T

PSU: Professional Series 80+ Gold Certified AX850

Case: Thermaltake Level 10 GT Battle Edition

Any helpful thoughts or tips are appreciated.
 
If you have a means of acquiring more money then wait and save more for the video card. No point in spending 100 dollars now only to replace it with a 250 dollar (for example) card in a few months. Overall you'll spend 350 dollars then if you had just waited a little longer and spent 250 on it to begin with.

Power supply is total overkill unless you have plans for SLI or Crossfire down the road.

Get the K version of the 4670 so you can overclock in the future.

Get an aftermarket cooler, even if it's only a 30 dollar CM Hyper 212. Will help you overclock much better.

That's a nice case but if you wanted to save some money (or switch it to spend on the video card) then you can downgrade it.

Ideally I would downgrade power supply to Corsair CX 600M, Get 2 x 4GB sticks of RAM, downgrade the case and up the video card to a 7870 or 7950. Also while getting a CPU cooler and the 4670K.
 
I'll definitely just invest in a better video card from the start (as you said itll save money in the long run).

I do plan on doing crossfire/sli in the future so I think im gonna keep the current choice of PSU that I stated in my first post. Also the one you suggest I dont believe is compatible with the Z87 motherboard.

I'll definitely just get the K version of the 4670 also suggested.

When it comes to cooler I was gonna get the Cool Master TPC 812 (probably should have stated that in my first post, sorry), doesnt cost much and is also compatible with the Z87.

I think im gonna keep with the Level 10 GT Case because im not worried about the cost of it, plus its really cool, (sorry total dork for that kind of stuff lol).

Im gonna keep with my choice of 2x8GB because Id rather just have more than enough RAM then too little, plus with future upgrades its only a matter of time before ill need it.

All in all I will definitely look into getting the 4670K CPU and Video Cards you also suggested. Thank you for the helpful tips and info Denther, it was greatly appreciate and will be well used.
 
Spend less on your board and case and get a nice graphics card. The NZXT Phantom is about 100 bucks cheaper than the Level 10 and in my opinion looks far nicer. The Gigabyte GA-Z87X-OC is about 40-50 bucks cheaper than the Sabertooth and is just as good.

I agree with Denther about the power supply - a TX 650 V2 will do perfectly http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139020&Tpk=tx 650 v2 - the CX 600 M which Denther suggested is also a good choice.

For gaming you don't need 16GB of RAM. Save the money and get 8GB, then put it towards a better graphics card.

Obviously get the 4670K and a nice cooler for overclocking too.
 
Cant say you dont make great and valid points Spirit and appreciate you trying to save me the money but then again im not too worried about the cost at the moment so im going to stick with the Sabertooth Z87 for the mobo.

When it comes to RAM my bad because I meant to put 2x4GB not 2x8, definitely only gonna get 8GBs of RAM no need for 16GBs.

Ill look into the Phantom case you also suggested it is pretty cool from what I can tell.

Unfortunately the PSU that you recommended isnt compatible with the Sabertooth Z87. But Ill look into trying to get a more affordable one.
 
The PSU I recommended should be compatible with the Sabertooth. It should be compatible with any modern motherboard.

And why spend more on the Sabertooth when the Z87X-OC is just as good?

You should be putting as much money as possible into the graphics card, so saving 50 bucks on your motherboard and putting it towards your graphics card instead is a good way to go. The performance lies in your graphics card.

I'm assuming you are American, hence for the Newegg links and the dollar currency. ;)

Im sure the Z87X-OC is just as good, id just rather have the Sabertooth is all. But I will take the switch under consideration. Who knows money could all the sudden unexpectedly get tight :)

I am American lol, but tend to lean away from Newegg though, for some reason it just seems like people are always having problems with components from them but I could be just fickel reviewers, I have heard great things about there customer service though.
 
The PSU will work.

Save money on the motherboard like suggested. There's really no point except for pure preference I guess.

Newegg is better than Tiger Direct in prices and about on par price wise with Amazon, with sometimes Amazon being cheaper. I've found shipping from Newegg is generally better than Amazon and their customer service is a bit more specific towards electronics than Amazon.

Up your graphics card. Period.

Of course the PSU will work. Any PSU with a 2 4 pin power connector and an 8-pin CPU power connector will work with the Sabertooth.

I don't think the Sabertooth has any real advantage over the Z87X-OC, but you've heard our opinions about spending less on your motherboard and putting more into your graphics card now. It's your decision at the end of the day if you take our advice or not, but ultimately it will result in the better-performing gaming computer, which I assume is what you intend to use this PC for.

I can't really say anything about Newegg, living in the UK, but a lot of Americans seem to like it so I tend to just go with it. :P
 
Well I Appreciate everyones help, tips, and info. You guys have been extremely great! Ill make sure to take your advisement under deep consideration and dont worry, ill make sure to concentrate on the graphics card. Thanks again guys :)
 
If something isn't on a compatibility list, it doesn't mean it's not compatible. Just means it hasn't been tested yet. Never actually heard of a PSU compatibility list, since they're pretty much all compatible. If you have a motherboard with an 8-pin CPU and 24-pin power connector, you can still get by with a 4-pin CPU and 20-pin PSU.
And if you reverse it, most PSUs will actually have a 4+4-pin CPU and 20+4-pin power, to give them backwards compatibility.
