I need some major help, being foolish i thought i could build my own website out of pure code that i wrote worked out okay but i copied something from somewhere to make it look nice.

Long story short i was wondering if anyone knows and good and free website builders which actually have some cool features and would allow me to export in either .html or a .txt containing the html code so i can upload it easily.

Here's where it get's tricky, i'm going to be building two websites. Rebuilding the current one for my mom (she's an artist) and making one for a Polish School here.

One more question: Can someone hack my website? Like just from the code and inject some virus or something, i defiantly don't want that happening.

Thanks in advance! :)

EDIT:
Also my sister lives in downtown Toronto and needs a cheap but good internet connection which will probably require a wireless router, i was wondering what would be the best and what kind of steps i should take to encrypt it because i know WEP and WEP2 can be easily hacked as far as i know.

All input is appreciated.

EDIT:
I've decided to try hand coding in notepad again, i would like to have a 5 page website done with the same template by Thursday, anyone know how i can start or know some tips that would come useful?

Well for the wireless. There is not wep2, only wep. There is, however, WPA and WPA2. Those are the best (WPA2 is the strongest), if you setup a strong non-dictionary password, it is almost imposable to crack.

So if someone wanted to they could crack it?
I was hoping not because i don't want anyone stealing her internet.

Try this: http://kompozer.net/

You could also try Nvu.

Thanks look good.

Also, how good is Dreamweaver?

Hey, i'm polish also :D try kompozer.net I am not sure if these are but alot of my friends use them piczo.com, freewebs.com So try them Msg me back whenever :D

Dreamweaver is definitely better than that if that's what you mean, but of course it's not as good as hand coding in notepad. :P If you don't know html dreamweaver is probably your best bet though.

I tried but had not much success and probably made it a little sloppy, time to download Dreamweaver then. :P

Thanks guys!

Also does anyone know of a good reliable ISP for Toronto?

You should learn how to code, it's far superior to using Dreamweaver and the like. Though I would have to agree that DreamWeaver is the best WYSIWYG editor.

Yeah but it took me nearly a week to write one website with like 6 pages. :(

http://www.w3schools.com/

this is an excellent site to learn the basics of any language. start with XHTML, then CSS. once you have a basic understanding of both of them, pick up a copy of "head first into HTML with XHTML and CSS" by oreilly publishing. a great book for anyone looking to learn. i wrote more on this in cohens thread so i won't go into much more detail because i feel like a broken record... PM me if you want more info

Okay thanks.

Only one more question; Is CSS where the website gets its flashy look?

yeah basically. a good rule of thumb is xhtml is used for structure, CSS is used for style. you will learn a lot more about what I mean when you start reading into it. the first thing i suggest reading is the box model, and about block elements vs inline elements.
