Looking for...

Hi i've been shopping around for case's and I'm sorta looking for a mid tower, 2x120 fan's (side and back) or three (front side and back) with the usb/audio ports on the top of the case thats not NZXT Nemesis Elite series. If someone happens to come by one let me know?

that's a one mighty expensive case there, :) I guess poeple generally put their computers next to the monitor :( dammit!

On most cases the descriptions point at front usb/audio ports while NZXT has all the "goodies" for the gaming line on the actual top of the case assuming everyone places that underneath the desk?!

Generally the "gaming" model cases are the ones with pumped up prices. The NZXT cases features temp gauges as well as the ports mounted on the top while others see those right above the top 5 1/4" drive bay or down below the floppy drive. I went through everything seen at xoxide.com and Koolance was one with a temp gauge without ports seen on top of the case on some of their models. ThermalTake has their fan control with temp monitor seen there. http://www.digiconcepts.com/thermaltake_cases_01.htm

why not buy a drive bay temp monitor/fan controller?

JohnDoH isn't looking for a temp monitor/fan controller setup. A case with audio input/output jacks and usb ports on the top of a make and model case other then NZXT is what being looked for. A custom modded case is another direction to look into since several gaming case vendors have turned up dry.

there's many cases with top mounted usb's. here's one i found in less than 2 minutes:

That still doesn't have top mounted usb ports and audio jacks. That's a fan with what looks like a fan controller sitting on top there. :( Nice looking case.

How about this Antec?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811129021

Two 120 mm fans in front, one in back, and a 200 mm on top. Plus a side and rear vent.

It figures! Good catch! That was the model considered to replace the AeroCool model here! In fact that's a model I usually point at for the extra cooling you can get out of it with the twin 120s in the front and a 120 can be mounted on the side. :D Unfortunately I wasn't paying to the location of the usb ports.

errrm yes it does, underneath a round panel on the top centre section lie two usb ports, one firewire port a microphone jack and a headphones jack

here is what you are looking for the thermaltake tsunami, $120-$130

The ole hide'em under a cover trick! The Antec 900 is the case with the capacity for two front 120mm fans however. :D I wish I had seen that one before order the AeroCool model with the obnoxious 140mm front fan grill pertruding since that stops the cabinet door closing on the pc desk here. http://www.xoxide.com/aerocool-aeroengine-2-black.html

Often the screens they show don't indicate the ports are there since they didn't include an arrow when they illustrate them. If you are planning to use a web cam that's where having usb ports on top of the case and audio jacks for head phones will be put to use. On most cases the usb and audio is seen below the floppy drive bay openings.

i believe he wants his case on the floor, and having top mounted ports makes it easier to reach and plug in your peripherals.

thanks for showing pceye where the top mounted ports i was talking about are.
