I am looking to buy a laptop for gaming, I am not really a genius when it comes to computers, but, I digress. I am interested in the dv6, mainly because I own one, I know them and what to expect, I love them, I have been searching around, looking into spending around 700-850, I found that two paths look the best for me, I wish to play battlefield 3, even if it is on lowest settings, should I take the combination of the i5-2430m processor and the AMD radeon HD 6770m (also, should I do the 1gb or 2gb vram?), or the combination of the AMD a8 3530mx quad core processor and the radeon 6750m?? I believe that both of these cards from my research can play the lowest setting, but I don't know about the processors, is the i5 a dual core or quad? also, if you guys have suggestions for laptops, please shoot! Thanks alot! Also, sorry for being so bitter and short with this, and sorry if this section of the forum is an irrelevant place to post this, thanks again!

Thank you very much! This certainly helps! How is Asus with reliability? These laptops, even in refurbished condition, for the money is an excellent buy! They are extremely powerful, thank you!

they are some of the best consumer grade laptops made.

Laptops by nature is not the best choice for games, especially in hot days of summertime.

Anyway if you want so much a laptop, try to find a laptop, with easily upgrade compoments, such CPU and GPU (some few laptops allowed to upgrade GPU card).

If you want games, a desktop computer with half price of laptop, run games better...

If you cannot find a laptop with feature, upgrade graphic card, then try to get a laptop with a strong card GPU.
That depend the use of gaming

Ati cards is very good in large view games. but no good in textures such shadders.
nVIDIA cards is very good in latest textures + shadders proccessing but no so much good Vs ATIs in large view games.
Eg: Doom 3 run better with nVIDIA, but half-life 2 run better with ATI...
