looking to buy an lcd monitor

lcd's don't last as long, actually, because they depend on a backlight, vs. crt's which create their own light

That monitor looks alright, for an extra $30 you could have done a lot better, tho. 20"ers with 1680x1050 res. start at around $199.

The main reasons I didn't buy a bigger monitor is because I want to stay at or under 200 dollars. There was one 20.1 inch for 200 and free shipping but it only had a one year warranty vs. the three year warranty mine has. I would rather have a three year warranty than a one year warranty even if the one that has the one year warranty is better.

Well I got my new monitor today and so far I love it. Right now the only thing I don't like about it is the buttons on the front are kind of hard to see even in a lighted room because I am looking at a bright screen then going to black. There are some small problems with the display. For example, I use Outlook Express for my email and whenever I receive a message, AVG scans it and it is not in the right place but no big deal.

Right now that is my only problem I have with it but other than that it is a great monitor. I am glad I went with a widescreen instead of standard.

I have a question. Whenever I hear people talking about response time, they refer to either GTG or Black to white. Which one is better and what is my monitor? What does those two things mean?

How long do LCD's last on average?
