Looking to Upgrade (RAM)

Just bought a custom built PC from a friend, and I'm looking to make some upgrades to convert it into a gaming pc. First thing I' looking at is ram.
CMX256A3200C2 is the part # My PC says there are 2 of them, one is in slot 2, the other in slot 3. It also says I have an AMD in slot 1, but doesn't show a part #.. and the 4th slot is empty.

So, what would you guys recommend getting to upgrade it? If I left out information, just tell me.

What motherboard do you have, how much RAM do you need, and what's your budget?

Hmm.. I looked up that motherboard and it seems it's for the Pentium 4?

You won't see much of an upgrade by upgrading your RAM but I'd say try to find the same RAM that you already have in there.

Bump to another forum member. I was confused by this: http://ixbtlabs.com/articles/sis645/

Should I upgrade the motherboard first, so I can upgrade the RAM further?

I'm just really lost as far as what works together with what.

Do you know if this computer has a Pentium 4 as the processor (CPU)?

If you do have a Pentium 4, the most beneficial upgrade would be to get a new CPU and motherboard which would cost $200+ considering you'd have to buy new RAM too.

Fairly old computer. The old SiS 645 is a Intel chipset by SiS, not the motherboard make and model. Back in the old VIA and SiS days. Supports DDR memory. Think the highest it supported was DDR333. If your ran DDR333 it would only support 2 sticks at 2gb max total. If you ran DDR200/266 it would support 3 sticks at 3gb total.
