looking to upgrade

I have a about a 5year old computer alienware area 51

nvidia 680i sli mother board

intel R core tm2 cpu 6400 2.13 GHZ

2 gigs ram not sure what kind

now in the last year I have replaced the video card with nvidia 460gt old one quit

and the PS with a 750 watt PS old one quit

would it be best to upgrade the computer I have with the new PS and video card or start over fresh

would I just need a mother board and a CPU and some more ram

I want to be able to play all the games there on max and do some video and picture editing

anyone recommend a mother board and cpu

the power supply might be good depending what brand, im not sure on the vide ocard though. but to play new games max, any 5 year old ram will prob be garbage, same with anything 5 years old, maybe keep the vid car and power supply, but pretty much your gonna have to start over

Agreed. A GTX 460 should serve you well and depending on the PSU brand, so should it.

I would get a new motherboard, RAM, and CPU. Possibly new HDD depending on your current one. Also might want to look into Windows 7 if you don't have it already.
