a buddy of mine is looking for a laptop for college he's gona attend art college
and needs a laptop that can handle video editing he's thinking mac but also wants some pc ideas he's looking to spen around 1000$ any ideas?

for only $1000 dollars you will find it difficult to find a laptop that can handle video editing. if you go with the mac you will most likely be able to find one that includes video editing software, but for $1000 i dont think you will be able to get a very powerful machine. i would recommend going with a desktop and assembling your own computer if the budget is that low and you need video editing capabilities
 
i am not a video editing expert by any means, but i tinker with it here and there. i have a 3.2ghz core 2 duo CPU, a 7950GT video card, and 2 gb of RAM, (all of which are better than that computer) and mine still goes slowly when i am editing a video...maybe somebody who is more familiar with video editing can respond
