Lost Files!

Ok, here is my problem.

I was trying to merge 2 partitions of my HD using power quest partition magic.

When I recieved an error message, since doing this upon loading up my pc, it sayd that it cannot load my profile ect.

Also the folder where all the files in one pertition where being moved to is empty!

What should i do?

If you can log on and get to your desktop, try this...

Click, Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore and try to restore to any earlier time. Hopefully you have a recent restore point.

If you can't get to your account/desktop, boot up in safe mode by holding down F8 when booting the computer. A menu will pop up and you will be able to select to boot the computer in safe mode. After that, you'll be able to use the Administrator account.

It doesn't really matter which partition he merged it with, since you can name a partition anything you want. You can make it Z: or Q: - so it doesn't matter which partition, what matters is the error message he got. Do you remember what the error message was? Definitely try the suggestions above, the restore point is your best shot.
