I just bought a new (used desktop) but I have lost my code for my old "Office 2000 software" that was on my old one. Is there anything I can do besides buying a new copy ?

Thanks Dino

Is your account a limited or administrator account? What operating system is on the "new" system?

It says administrator, and it is XP, there are 2 users that come up, one will not let me do anything the other will. I called the place where I bought it and they said there was nothing wrong and felt this was a problem caused by my Carbonite restoring software. This sound right ?
Thanks Dino

Well that worked and I got my Microsoft Office Key. Thank You. Now one more problem (but I think I may be out of luck) I cant find the damn disc ! Any cure for this ?

Thanks Dino

Office 2000? You may aswell purchase office2010 :) it is very good lathough i like office 2007

NO, all programs have to be reinstalled. You can't copy the program from pc to pc. It must be reinstalled.

If you lost your Office 2000 disc why not just download and install Open Office or Libre Office for free? It's compatible with Microsoft Office but it is free and probably has much better features than Office 2000 does. I'd recommend you check it out, and I'd still recommend you check it out even if you get your Office 2000 working again just because it is more modern and of course, free. It's Libre Office that comes with Ubuntu isn't it?
