depends on the service pack. There are some ways on the early versions of 2000 to crack the password file, but they aren't for the faint of heart. The easiest thing is to just wipe the drive and install a new OS. If there are files you want to recover for any particular reason, there are software packages that can recover data off reformatted drives as long as the sector hasn't been overwritten

try the common passwords also

admin, administrator, pass, password, 12345, (blank)..

I bet I just guessed 1/2 of the members login password...

lol...or just hit enter with no password...tricky

i'd be formatting it and installing a new OS anyways, Dell likes to "tweak" there OS's and they don't run as clean/fast as a fresh non-tampered copy of [insert OS here].

how would i go about uninstalling 2000 profesional? I think it could be to slow to handle xp though but im not sure whats in it because i havent been able to check it!

You just format the drive, wipe it with a program like wdclear. But you'll need another OS to install or the PC wont have one...
