Lost Planet

ok, just bought lost planet, been playing it at medium settings on my machine, i know my specs aren't the best, and the graphics card is a bit dated now, but it was all going fine until i go into a cave where the graphics and physics get pretty intense and it gets unplayable.

Now my machine more than meets the minimum requirements, but for some reason it wont play, any ideas? Also the game isn't recognising it as being slow for the game, because on other forums people are saying that it will pop up with a message asking you to adjust the settings, mine doesn't do that, it just goes very slow. But my specs are below and ill post the minimum specs for the game.

my machine: Amd Athlon 64 3800+, 2gb Memory, Ati x1650 pro, 400gb hard disk.

minimum requirements: Pentium 4, geforce 6600 or above, 1gb memory for xp (thats in recommended settings, ive got 2gb)

any ideas, could it be the drivers for my graphics card?

It could possibly be the drivers of which a clean install of the latest drivers would fix.

Also, keep in mind, minimum requirements for a game only allow it to play at the very lowest possible settings at a decent frame rate. Your problem could be that your graphic settings are too high and it's merely a glitch that it doesn't prompt you to lower your settings. A major performance boost is to remove any AA, especially in areas with a lot of sprites and objects (if you haven't already disabled them already........).

Edit: Grammatical Errors.......

thanks for the fast reply, i have done what you suggested and ran the driver cleaner, i used to have an nvidia graphics card before i switched to ati and i dont trust graphics drivers, so i have reinstalled the latest ati driver, hopefully that will work, i also had the settings on the lowest possible when it was going slow, didn't make any difference, so that leads me to believe its a driver issue, thanks.

i think is your video card :) a 6600 is more powerful that the x1650 isnt it.
