i lost my cd drives, i cant find them anywhere on my computer i can double click on them, but it comes with an error saying, DVD: cannot be found
cd-rw: please insert a disk, and there is a disk in both drives

help me please

um.... open up your case and check that the cables are all plugged in.

How can you double click on them if you can't find them?

Did you check control panel for any exclamation symbols?

Did you install any new software right when this first happened?

Are these new drives?

Can you see them in your device manager? If so, uninstall one and windows will find the hardware for it upon restarting your computer.

replaced the mobo and my drives are now back, it was a bad mobo
