I had a bad virus, the doctor one, got it out I think I got a lot of blue screens w numbers on it then the computer would restart, now when I turn the computer on the computer loads fine till it is supposed to show the xp windows loading screen but it just sits and shows black.... any idea? Thanks

It wont let me get into boot screen or the other option, when I hit F11 it just goes black, F8 goes black.. as for the blue stop codes, its so quick no way to actually write the code now... basically i start my computer up, I see my ATI main screen and then it goes to the screen where it writes some words (which is normal on my built computer), then it would go to the xp screen.. but now I see my ati screen, then sometimes the words don't even show up I just get the cursor for a type cursor blinking at the top left then it moves downa line, then after that black....

Do you have any way of slaving the hard drive to another computer to scan it? or do you have any dual boot options for going into a different OS on the computer?

As a side thought, do you have the OS install disks?

The computer was custom built, I never recieved the OS disks.

I do know on my old computer the one I bought from a store, I could hit like F6 and I could re-install windows, can I still do that?

As for the slave and what not, I'll be honest, I'm a web designer not a computer technician so I have NO idea how do boot slave scan it thingy haha

My computer won't even let me go into boot options.

I do want johnb to take a look at this, to see what he comes up with. And I also have to go to work in a few.

Slaving the HD to another computer just means you take the HD out of the damaged computer and connect it to one which is working, preferably running the same OS.

If I were you, I'd be talking to the person or business who built your computer to see if they have any reinstall/boot disks they could give you.

If you can't boot into windows in regular or safe mode and you don't have install cd's, there isn't much you can do but reinstall windows at this point. Whoever built you the computer should have given you the reinstallations cd's. Is it possible that you have a recovery partition on the hard drive? Hopefully its a genuine OS or you'll have to buy a new copy.

Hello Guys,

Thanks for your comments Im trying to get a hold of the guy.

I did try one thing, that was told from a friend the said maybe low memory that my ram was going out, so I took (I have 4 spots, only 2 spots are used), out one of my rams, turned the computer on, and the computer kinda went blue/blackish... then i took out the one in there and put back the one i took out, turned on the computer, nothing showed on the computer no ati screen nothing, so then I have 2 ram sticks from my old computer, put them in, and again nothing was being displayed, put the two back in, and got the black screen with ati screen.. someone told me i could diconnect the bio's wire that goes to the mother board unplug it for 10 secs and plug it back in (I guess its plugged into a battery or by a battery).
