lotsa questions on building a gaming computer

once im done school and ive purchased the necessary tools for my trade im going to save up around 1500 bucks and build a computer (those are canadian funds). im looking for a computer that can play crysis on really high settings, preferably on directx 10. also want to play Starcraft 2 and diablo 3 when they crawl out of their holes. so heres my questions:

1. i was looking at a intel c2q Q6600 2.4ghz CPU but i heard of compatibility issues with windows vista 64 bit, such as very slow PC performance, or recognizing only 3.2gb ram despite being 64 bit. does anyone have any problems with this? can you shed some light on this topic?

2. i have a 17 inch monitor and works great, but with all these new video cards coming out nowadays, i heard some of them require larger monitors to run a higher resolution for them. example: the radeon 4870 x2 supposedly doesnt run properly unless ran in 2600 x 1500 (i forgot the resolution honestly) or more. again, can someone tell me if this is true? will i need a new monitor for todays gaming cards?

3. can i run two 9800 gtx's SLI / two 4850's crossfire on a 750 watt power supply? i guess that would be depending on the rest of the rig, but lets say with a quad core and 4 gigs ram (both these cards say they require 450 watts psu)

4. i would LOVE to know if theres anyone out there with a rig that can play Crysis with directx 10 and highest settings and get a FPS of 30 or more. and if u do, post ur comp specs. my mouth salivates for this game and i want to experience both crysis games in its true beauty.

5. im looking to get gamer RAM for my future computer (ones with heatsinks, but NOT liquid cooling) but some of its kinda not available from where im from, does anyone play hardcore games with regular ram from companies like Comstar and Kingston? im a little skeptical about buying lower grade ram for a gaming rig probably because of overheating issues and maybe performance issues too.

any help is greatly appreciated

Make sure you use newegg.com it has EVERYTHING you need. i'm talking high quality stuff and yes they have a canada version just scroll to the bottom

consider going amd 2.5 ghz cpu and as for the vista 64 bit get the premium with service pack 1(i think they fixed that problem with the service pack)

i would probably get a 19" moniter

try and shoot for a 800-850 power supply (just to be careful)

i don't really play crisis so i wouldn't know(just look in some of the reviews on newegg)

as for the ram no problem it's easy to get good ram

terrible build.... you do not want a phenom or a 3870. for $1500, you should be getting a good intel quad core and a GTX280, or maybe a 4870X2.

Try to get something like the 4870X2, or the 4870.

4GB RAM.

atealst 500GB HDD

QX6600, at least, and a mobo for that.

2xDVD Burners.

Vista home edition SP1

700W PSU

Raidmax smilodon case, I thinks is awesome lookin, and has a removable MB tray. Atcaully like a "1 click fold out"

will run you around 1500, and will defintely run crysis at max.
