Low Budget (500USD)

EDIT: This looks like a wall of text but its not...its just well organized :p /edit

Looking for a budget build that after a little OC'ing will do alright with games.
Unfortunately, the budget is real tight: 500USD max. 450 would be preferable.

I know I'm not gonna get a beast for the price.
It will primarily do media playback/web surfing/homework and light gaming on the side.

Heres what I'm looking at...its been a while so all the help i can get is greatly appreciated.

CPU: Intel Pentium E2200 2.2GHz
Will overclock and I think it should suffice. It is 65nm, will that limit it as far as OC'ing goes? Think i could hit 3GHz on air (with aftermarket HSF of course)?

MOBO: Gigabyte EP35-DS3L
Currently have it and it works fine/great. Haven't OC'd with it but I hear it does a fine job. Open to recomendations, dont really want to spend much more than 90 on the mobo.

GPU: Sapphire HD 3870
I have a friend who has this card and loves it. Is it the best card at the 100$ price mark?

RAM: G.Skill 2GB
Seems like popular ram. I've heard good things about it. 2GB should be fine for now. Im going to run XP

CASE: CM Centurion 5
Wanted quality at a low price and ended up thinking this was a good bet. Was I right?

DVD: LITEON DVD Burner

PSU: Thermaltake 500W

HDD: WD 500GB
I know some of you frown on Western Digital but I havent had a problem with them...

HSF: Arctic Cooling Freezer 7
If I can cut down the price, I'd like to throw in one of these.

Thanks Guys!

If you dont have the money, gor for the AMD athlon 64 X2 5200+ or better. Only 66 bucks! plus, the OCING IS AWESOME ON THIS TYPE OF CPU! Mine OCED real nicely, with the stock cooler even, so Im sure with an aftermarket cooler you can easily get 3GHz outta that CPU. Everything esle seems good, though you may want to shoot for a better PSU, like maybe 600 for future upgrades.

PSU: May be Antec EA500? Higher efficiency than the one you chosen
HDD: Why getting one with 8MB Cache? The 16MB Cache one is at the same price
RAM: G.Skill is good. But when taking accord of OCZ is $12 after re-bate, why not OCZ?
CPU: E5200 is $84, worth considering

Alright, sweet thanks for the advice.
I like the RAM...and have good experience with OCZ rebates too. (wrote wrong info and they fixed it and still gave it to me :D )
*palm face* about the HD lol. I knew i missed something obvious like that.

Aight, will consider that combo and 8800GT. Thanks for the heads up.

If your only going to get 2 gigs you could at least get some HIGH quality ram! http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220348

In my opinion at this point anything below the E8500 is stupid. Just get the E8500 spend the extra bux or just get a quad.

Think you missed the point/budget. Budget build. 500$ tops. Looking to get it for 450.

Hmm. AMD...
Most people are saying/proving Intel is the way to go right now but I wouldnt be opposed to going AMD...
If I went AMD, what motherboard would you recommend?
