anyone have any suggestions for a low budget computer?
preferences- no eMachines, no Atom processors. but an overclockable processor would be nice. a cheap bare bones, or custom pc would be nice too.

Are you planning on building? Most OEM manufacturers lock down their BIOS, so it really leaves OCing out of the question if you're buying OEM pre-builts. Budget? Location?

yes, i'm planning on building. will cut on cost, and raise the quality. budget= up to or less than $350. (extreme budget) location= in the US. i'd also like to include a 64bit Windows 7 Home (not included in budget)

general internet surfing, maybe a few games (but nothing hard core), Word, and I also watch a lot of DVDs on it. oh, and music.

wow, those parts aren't too shabby for the price. i will consider that build...and also search for a GPU. btw: rock on newegg, rock on.

i haven't used an AMD before either so that will be a change, and all the Asus mobos i've seen have been awesome too.

i woulnt reccomend that case. broadway com corp is a very crappy brand.

EDIT: the broadway comcorp comes to $50 after shipping, and the coolermaster comes to $55 after shipping. its only a $5 difference and its not worth it. trust me.

Opps, sorry if I made a bad suggestion. Listen to the pros and you'll fair better. ; ) I just hit the search button thinking surely the case could get a little cheaper.

alright, no broadway com corp case, i read some reviews and some do say that it falls apart. you guys are hitting right in my area of price. keep 'em coming.

^^ a little small, but it would work. just gotta be careful cause the cheaper cases are pretty flimsy and u dont wanna crack the plastic or anything. get this case and the price comes to like $348
